    Weather Forecast for Coachella 2023

    The National Weather Service in San Diego Weather Forecast Office, whose area of responsibility includes Riverside County, has the following Weekend 1 weather forecast for April 14-16:

    Friday - Sunny, with a high near 80. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
    Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
    Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 86. Light southeast wind increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
    Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 60. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight.
    Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 91. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
    Sunday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 61.​

    It could be a bit chilly tonight, especially if the wind kicks in. Anyone going might want to bring a jacket, sweatshirt/hoodie, or a sweater with them. It won't though be quite as cold as last night and the wind won't be as strong. There were some reports from campers of some high gusts and a lot of blowing dust on Thursday. The rest of the weekend looks great!

    The initial full NWS San Diego Weekend 2 weather forecast for the area around the festival grounds for April 20-23 is looking good:

    Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 88.
    Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 59.
    Friday - Sunny, with a high near 91.
    Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 60.
    Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 93.
    Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 62.
    Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 94.
    Sunday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 62.​

    Major forecast models aren't showing much wind right now.

      Here is the Tuesday update for W2. It is going to be a bit hotter now over the weekend.

      Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 87. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the morning.
      Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 58.
      Friday - Sunny, with a high near 92.
      Friday Night - Clear, with a low around 63.
      Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 96.
      Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 65.
      Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 96.
      Sunday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 63.​

      Forecast models do show winds now picking up late Sunday, but it's not clear how strong they'll be yet.

        Here is the Wednesday W2 forecast update. It's certainly going to be hot this weekend!

        Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 87. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
        Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 58. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable.
        Friday - Sunny, with a high near 92. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
        Friday Night - Clear, with a low around 64. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
        Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 97.
        Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 66.
        Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 97.
        Sunday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 63.​

        The forecast models show it definitely becoming windy by late Sunday afternoon and into the evening. So be prepared for some dust in the air.

            Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
            Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 97. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
            Sunday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 62.​
