In an act of sheer fucking idiocy, Missouri's Governor Mike Parson has declared that attending live events including concerts and sporting events can resume in his state beginning tomorrow, May 4. Social distancing guidelines though have to be maintained. Yeah, right. Good luck with that, especially if alcohol is being consumed. At least the bigger cities in MO like St. Louis, Springfield, and Kansas City aren't following this rube and are keeping their restrictions on large gatherings in place for now.

Can you imagine what the line to get into a venue would look like if everyone is 6 feet apart? How do you have a beer with a face mask on? How do you shout "Free Bird!" and limit your spit to 6 feet?

Well at least you won't have to worry about some douche holding up his/her phone and blocking your view. Now does VIP now ensure that you are socially distanced at least 12 feet apart rather than the standard 6?

Also, while a face mask may inhibit conventional beer drinking, beer bongs are still fair game for the bros...and then there are plain bongs too:

Here's something to lift your spirits: Mike Ryan, the emergencies expert for the World Health Organization official warned today that the COVID-19 coronavirus may never go away and might become endemic in our communities like HIV.
“I’m not comparing the two diseases but I think it is important that we’re realistic. I don’t think anyone can predict when or if this disease will disappear. I think there are no promises in this and there are no dates. This disease may settle into a long problem, or it may not be.”
He stated that the world has some control of how it copes with the disease but it would take a humongous effort if a vaccine is found, which is something he equates as a "massive moonshot," and to “give that to everyone who needs it and stop this disease in its tracks.”

One called CleanTech is being manufactured by a firm based in Hong Kong called BioEm. The other is the Xtreme Disinfectant Cube, manufactured by Henderson, NV-based Xtreme Manufacturing.

L.A. firm Production Club has designed a prototype "ultimate" protective suit called the Micrashell that could be rented at concerts and nightclubs. This alien-looking uniform features a helmet, gloves, N95 filtration system, "cell link" pouch, air ejection system, removable filter, snap-in canisters for drinking and vaping, speakers, camera, and synchronized LED light accents. From Stereogum:
Production Club head of inventions Miguel Risueno, who goes by the name Mike 808, says, “It’s a half suit that kind of takes your safety and your security in terms of being close to airborne particles or viruses to the next level… We need to make sure that people want to wear it and they feel good about wearing it. So it’s a little bit more of a fashion piece rather than something that looks like a medical device.”

Think about it...not only will the Micrashell protect you from COVID-19 transmission, it undoubtedly will become must-have club gear among the A-listers for those futuristic dope intergalactic raves in Andromeda!

Speaking of space and COVID-19, billionaire coronavirus-impact denier and chronic mitigation-measures complainer Elon Musk, who threatened to move Tesla to TX if he couldn't reopen the CA manufacturing facility, and Grimes have made an important announcement about their new baby boy. His name has been changed from the very ubiquitous X Æ A-12 to X Æ A-Xii since CA law doesn't allow numbers in people's names. Roman numerals are though fair game, and Grimes says it looks way better.

Hey all, I got my first dose of the Moderna vaccine via my employer three days ago. I did experience some pain and soreness in the arm where the shot was administered; but that has mostly abated now, and I had no other after-effects. Round 2 is in 3.5 weeks. I hear that one packs a much stronger punch.

Has anyone else on here received one of the vaccines yet?

I had the first dose of Pfizer about 10 days ago and get my second dose on the 28th. I had a really sore arm for a day and a mild headache for a couple days but no other effects.

According to my manager covid is over next month(mind you he's dealthy afraid of catching covid and oddly enough pushes vaccines but is also against himself from getting a vaccine, also when I got covid in January he didn't want me to come back to work for close to 2 months to "make sure")

I don't know how/where he got his medical degree in a little over a year but it feels odd seeing April come back again and realize this is the second coachella that I'd be missing

I can't wait till we're back to raw dogging eachothers air supply in the desert.
