I got notification today from AEG of a Blondie concert in Ft. Lauderdale on March 16. That date seems to be a one-off before playing Festival Estereo Picnic and then Coachella. I might go in that.

I'll be in for the Miami show for sure.

The conspicuous lack of a announced Chicago date in July with tour routing in KC and St. Louis may indicate an appearance at Pitchfork Music Festival.

AEG Presents is rolling out something different this summer that brings back some memories of the '90s traveling music festivals. A concert series dubbed Re:SET, curated and headlined over three different nights by LCD Soundsystem, boygenius, and Steve Lacy, will take place over four weekends in June 2023 at venues in 12 different U.S. cities. The lineup for the LCD days will include Jamie XX and IDLES with Big Freedia and L'Rain on select dates. boygenius' lineup days include Clairo, Dijon, and Bartees Strange. Steve Lacy's lineup days include James Blake, Toro y Moi, and Fousheé. More artists are to be announced. All will perform on a single stage, and AEG promises no conflicts.

Performances for the four weekends are grouped by region: West (California), South, East, and Midwest. The venues are Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Thrive Park at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, and the Frost Amphitheater at Stanford on June 2-4; Festival Grounds at City Park in New Orleans, Texas Trust Credit Union Theatre Grounds in Dallas, and Atlanta Central Park on June 9-11; Forest Hills Stadium in NYC, The Stage at Suffolk Downs in Boston, and Merriweather Post Pavilion outside Washington D.C. on June 16-18; and Riis Park in Chicago, The Great Lawn in Centennial Park in Nashville, and the Kemba Live! Festival site in Columbus June 23-24.

Love this idea, particularly in a festival landscape where lineups have a harder and harder time exciting me. I will say, though, that I'm pretty frustrated that none of these (great) headliners have support that I'm into - the only supporting act I'd be interested in seeing is Bartees Strange. I think I'm probably in the minority on that front though.

The other big question I have re: Re:SET is: what are the chances another music festival gets booked at the Rose Bowl for that final weekend of May? With Just Like Heaven and Cruel World the weekends before and Re:SET the weekend after, you could imagine someone could rent all the necessary infrastructure on the cheap. The events are split between Goldenvoice and AEG, but if they were all from the same promoter I'd flat-out expect something get announced any minute now.
